Coaching sessions were organised during the summer.
In partnership with Lancashire Cricket Board, Red Rose Sports Club is running cricket sessions on Wednesdays and Saturday. See our “Whats New” section for times, age groups.
Also, teams are also playing in a Sunday indoor league in Blackburn for 16-23 yr olds.
Cricket coaching – sessions for young people (11 yrs up to 25 yr olds) will start from Feb 2015.

Mid- week cricket 20/20 league – Teams of 8 players are required for a new league which will run between May-Aug 2015. Email info@redrosesportsclub.org.uk to register your team before 31 March 2015.
Red Rose Cricket section have achieved the ECB Clubmark Award since 2007 and in line with the requirements of the award list below the following policies and procedures:
The club has built on previous years by recruiting and qualifying two more Level two coaches.
The club ran coaching sessions for young people and friendly matches.
The senior’s team entered the UCLan mid week 9 a side league and finished mid table with some fine individual and team performances from the players.
The team did not enter the main league and played in the friendly competition. With virtually a new team, the team performed well in their two matches and look forward to winter nets to be ready for the main competition next year.
The club entered the mid week league for the second year and had a very successful season and finised runners up. The team had a nailbiting finish needing to win the last match to secure second spot.
Putting the opposition into bat, the team restricted them to 81 runs in their 16 overs and Red Rose got off to a poor start losing two quick wickets, before a steady partnership got them to 35 runs and then the team lost two quick wickets and the match was in the balance. A rear guard action saw the team reach 82-5 and clinch second position.
